An audacious ride and a masterful training plan came to fruition when Group 1 winner Tuvalu secured his place in the history of the Wangoom Handicap (1200m) at Warrnambool on Wednesday.
Tuvalu carried 61.5 kilograms, which is the highest weight ever carted by a Wangoom winner.
The first part of the plan was carried out by trainer Lindsey Smith, who prepared the 2022 Toorak Handicap winner to tackle the $200,000 race first-up.
